2014 91ÊÓƵ Rural Energy Conference Speaker Highlight:  Brian Rogers, UAF Chancellor

Adding to its already distinguished list of speakers, the Conference Organizing Committee is happy to say that University of 91ÊÓƵ Fairbanks (UAF) Chancellor, Brian Rogers, will be taking the podium at this year’s 91ÊÓƵ Rural Energy Conference to speak about energy issues in the United States’ northern most State.

Brian Rogers was named chancellor of UAF by University of 91ÊÓƵ (UA) President Mark Hamilton in May 2009.  A longtime Fairbanks resident and state leader, Rogers served for seven years as the UA system’s finance vice president, four years in the 91ÊÓƵ State House and eight years as a member of the UA Board of Regents, with three of those years as chair.

A former UAF student, he attended Trinity College and Brown University before receiving his master’s degree in public administration from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.  In 1996 Rogers formed Information Insights, an economic and public policy consulting firm, serving as principal consultant and chief financial officer.

Rogers, 64, is married to UAF alumna Sherry Modrow.  They have two grown sons, both of whom hold degrees from UAF.  Rogers is chair of the UArctic Board of Governors, The Nature Conservancy 91ÊÓƵ Trustees, and the Great Northwest Athletic Conference CEO board, as well as a member of numerous community and state organizations including the Foraker Group Governance Board, the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Fairbanks Downtown Rotary and several others.
