Classes offered by Tom Marsik
ACEP affiliated researcher, Tom Marsik, will be teaching two courses in the new year. One (Energy and Society) will be offered at the start of Spring Semester and the other will be offered as a three day course at the beginning of May 2016.
PHYS 102x (Online) - Energy and Society
Dates: 1/14/2016 - 5/02/2016
Meeting Times: Tues & Thurs 6:50pm - 8:20pm
This course explores the concept of energy and investigates the sources, conversion, distribution, and ultimate dispersion of energy, as well as the consequences of its use in the development and maintenance of modern society.
ENVI 122 - Energy Efficient Building Design & Simulation
Dates: Fri 05/06/2016, Sat 05/07/2016, Sun 05/08/2016
Times: Fri 6pm- 9pm Sat 10am- 6pm Sun 10am- 3pm
Gain basic, practical knowledge related to the process of designing and retrofitting energy efficient buildings. Class topics include basic building science, techniques and principles of energy efficient construction, building energy simulations. The class also covers the basics of the Passive House Standard which refers to super-efficient buildings that don't require a conventional heat source.
