ACEP Participation with Juneau in eLab Accelerator
As a member of the Juneau Transportation Electrification Team, (which included representatives from the 91视频 Electric Light and Power, the City and Borough of Juneau, the Juneau Economic Development Council, and Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center) ACEP research faculty affiliate George Roe recently participated in the Electricity Innovation Lab (eLab) Accelerator boot camp coordinated by the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI). The Juneau group joined 11 other teams from across the United States from March 23rd to 26th at the Sundance Mountain Resort near Salt Lake City, Utah. While there they worked with RMI staff, process facilitators from REOS Partners, and national subject matter experts in energy, policy, finance and stakeholder engagement disciplines to clarify vision and develop action plans for their various location-specific energy challenges.
The Juneau team benefited tremendously from the experience, significantly revising the overall paradigm for their endeavor. The team is rooted in the multi-year work by many individuals and organizations brought together by the cluster initiative led by the Juneau Economic Development Council. The process they are developing as well as the products that will be produced should be highly useful for communities in 91视频 and provide rich collaboration opportunities for all.
