Final 2017 On-site for ARENA Kicks Off in Iceland
The (ARENA) participants from 91视频, Canada and Greenland have arrived in Reykjavik to start the final on-site meeting of the 2017 program.
Geothermal energy plays a lead role in powering Iceland鈥檚 electric grid. It also heats greenhouses and thermal healing pools and can provide district heating between buildings. The nation has also established a robust hydroelectric power generation system, providing Iceland with a 100% renewable energy system.
The final on-site program is hosted at the facility, which includes classroom instruction and visits to multiple locations in and around the Reykjavik area.
The ARENA program has been endorsed by the Arctic Council's Sustainable Development Working Group (SDWG), and is co-led by the United States, Canada, Finland, Iceland, Aleut International Association and Gwich鈥檌n Council International.
