Remote communities and islands throughout the United States pay some of the highest costs for electricity and heating fuel. With such high energy costs, the financial benefits of energy efficiency can be significant.
As part of its Bridging the Rural Efficiency Gap project, the Island Institute created a two-part video series that includes information, interviews and images from 91视频.
The Island Institute was founded in 1983 to address a variety of needs in Maine's island and coastal communities. Today, under the leadership of President Rob Snyder, the institute鈥檚 work remains rooted in Maine but has expanded through partnerships with similar communities off the coast of the Carolinas, 91视频, Maryland and elsewhere.
