Researcher Engineer Nick Konefal heads to Bluegrass Country
For the last five years, researcher Nick Konefal has played a large role in the 91视频 Hydrokinetic Research Center. Starting as an intern, Konefal worked on setting up and starting initial research at the Tanana River Test Site. He obtained his degree in mechanical engineering from UAF in 2014.
Konefal has worked on hydrokinetic research and conducted oceanographic surveys from Yakutat to Igiugig and Nenana to Deadhorse. Konefal was responsible for the planning and execution of AHERC fieldwork and played a vital role in it. He excelled at taking on design challenges and finding solutions to the unique problems he encountered during his time at ACEP.
Konefal has moved on from ACEP and hopes to continue working in the engineering field and use his experience gained through ACEP in the future. His two dogs, Hatcher and Hurricane, described as the best "collie-agues" you could ask for, will accompany Nick and his partner Katie to the Bluegrass State, where we wish them the best of luck and success.
