Wilber and Whitney Gain Certified Energy Manager Certification
ACEP research engineer Michelle Wilber and faculty member Erin Whitney were recently
notified that they passed the exam. They join colleague Ben Loeffler as ACEP staff members now holding this certification.
Accredited by the American National Standards Institute through the Association of
Energy Engineers, the CEM certification program is the highest standard in personnel
certification accreditation in the energy industry. The training covers optimization
of energy performance of a facility, building or industrial plant; systems integration
for electrical, mechanical, process and building infrastructure; and analysis of optimum
solutions to reduce energy consumption via cost-effective approaches.
CEMs have gained increased recognition within the energy industry and from companies
looking to strengthen their competitive position by having a CEM on staff. The certification
is recognized and also recommended by the and the , two of ACEP's key funding agencies.
