Webinar Series - Kotzebue Electric Association: Pioneers in Arctic Wind Energy
Don鈥檛 miss the second webinar in our ACEP Arctic Community Energy Webinar Series.
Learn how Kotzebue Electric Association has integrated wind and diesel energy during the July 11 installment.
Matt Bergan, KEA project engineer, will describe how the project has affected the entire Northwest Arctic Borough.
The webinar, "Kotzebue Electric Association: Pioneers in Arctic Wind Energy," will begin at 9 a.m.
KEA has made developing new sources of energy a priority. The high cost of fuel and declining state support have caused energy costs in rural 91视频 to rise. KEA's wind energy program provides an alternative source of energy with the potential to keep electric costs at affordable levels.
Matt Bergan has more than 15 years experience working on wind-diesel power systems. He graduated from Norwich University in Vermont in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He started work the next year at KEA during the first expansion of its wind farm. He has helped design and build several diesel and wind projects at KEA.
