Three ACES Workshops on Social Behavior Regarding Energy
Three virtual workshops organized by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory will be held during April 2021 on the social, institutional, and cultural dimensions of whole energy transitions. These workshops are part of the lab’s Accelerating Clean Energy at Scale Initiative. &²Ô²ú²õ±è;

Each workshop will be from 10-11:30 a.m. 91ÊÓƵ time.
- April 12: Social, Institutional and Cultural Challenges to Accelerating Energy Transitions
Three social scientists experienced in the social dimensions of whole energy transitions will each give a 15-minute presentation followed by 20 minutes of questions and answers and then a dialogue with participants. Confirmed presenters include ,  ²¹²Ô»å  &²Ô²ú²õ±è;
- April 14: Embedding Social, Institutional and Cultural Dimensions of Energy Transitions: Key Challenges
First, results from a survey on social and behavioral science capabilities at NREL will be presented. Next, each of the other panelists will share their perspectives on how technological solutions are seen by their designers and promoters, on the one hand, and potential beneficiaries on the other. - April 16: Exploring Possible Actions to Close the Technology and Society Loop
Participants will explore possible actions that engineers, planners, social scientists, communities ²¹²Ô»å communicators can collaborate on to harness the transformative potential of innovations and avoid or manage the possible risks and pitfalls. Panelists include Jake Glavin, executive director of the Midwest Tribal Energy Resources Association, and Elizabeth Babcock, residential energy program administrator for the City and County of Denver.  &²Ô²ú²õ±è;
