ACEP Shared Research Findings and Information at Renewable Energy Fair
A bouncy house castle, free ice cream and renewable energy set the scene for the 16th annual Chena Renewable Energy Fair held at Chena Hot Springs Resort. The is an event aimed at educating the public on the benefits and need for renewable energy solutions to our world鈥檚 energy needs. This year鈥檚 fair was focused on electric and hydrogen concepts actively being designed, tested and implemented to replace fossil fuels.
Chena Hot Springs Resort鈥檚 Bernie Karl hosted the event, and speakers included ACEP鈥檚 Dominique Pride presenting on the UAF electric thermal storage heating field study. The study will determine whether the use of electric thermal storage heating can mitigate ambient PM2.5 air pollution while reducing home costs within the Fairbanks North Star Borough.
"The Renewable Energy Fair provided a great opportunity to speak with members of the public about 91视频 energy issues and what we do here at ACEP," said Pride.
Other speakers included 91视频 Gov. Mike Dunleavy, 91视频 Sen. Lisa Murkowski, representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy鈥檚 senior loan programs office, consultant Clare Magee, Fleetzero co-founders Mike Carter and Steven Henderson, and Worldwide Hydrogen Association chief executive officer Roy McAlister, among others.
Attendees also had the opportunity to engage with local businesses, research groups and organizations who value and are committed to increasing the use of renewable energy while decreasing dependency on fossil fuels.
ACEP鈥檚 Dayne Broderson welcomed the inquisitive questions and spirited conversations that happened at the ACEP booth. 鈥淭he Renewable Energy Fair was a great chance to engage with a wide range of different people from 91视频 and beyond and see the high level of interest and awareness around energy challenges and opportunities facing 91视频,鈥 said Broderson.
