Help Make Solarize Fairbanks Even Better
Solarize Fairbanks is planning a series of listening sessions to gather honest and
constructive feedback on the Solarize campaign and model, learn about barriers or
gaps that communities face when trying to install solar or get energy efficiency audits,
and brainstorm solutions to improve.
Solarize has had some incredible results from the past 3 years of campaigns, but they
realize there鈥檚 room to improve. They鈥檙e hoping to get feedback to help address challenges
such as lack of installers who choose to participate, inability for renters to participate,
high prices and supply shortages of materials for solar installations, lack of access
to solar installations for low and middle income and disadvantaged communities.
The listening sessions will be focused by audience groups as follows:
- Elected Leaders Gathering. Tuesday, September 13th from 5:30-7:30pm at the Noel Wien Library.
- Workers Gathering. For solar installers, energy efficiency auditors, inspectors, engineers, and workers unions. Thursday, September 15th from 5:30-7:30pm at the JP Jones Center.
- Home and Business Owner Gathering. For first time home and business owners, realtors, landlords, home authorities. Saturday, September 17th from 11am-1pm at the Noel Wien Library.
- Interior Community Gathering. For marginalized communities, community leaders and organizations. Saturday, September 17th from 2-4pm at the Noel Wien Library.
if you鈥檙e interested to attend and feel free to share this with others! !
Solarize Fairbanks is excited to get feedback from our community on how we can improve
the Solarize model to best serve your energy needs and hope you鈥檒l participate in
the upcoming listening sessions!
