RE:
Vaccination Requirement Request Approval - REC CLASSES IN MOUNTAINEERING AND/OR ICE CLIMBING

The University of 91视频 System policy states that vaccination requirements may only be made by exception and must be approved by the President at the request of the Chancellor.

I have received your request for a vaccination requirement for the following:

ALL PARTICIPANTS IN RECREATION MOUNTAINEERING AND/OR ICE CLIMBING CLASSES

Based on your request and President Pitney鈥檚 approval, I am herewith authorizing a vaccination requirement (with medical and non-medical-religious exemptions) for that purpose.

Please see the procedures laid out in the September 17, 2021 memo from Chief Human Resources Officer Bishko titled 鈥淕uidelines for Supervisors Regarding COVID-19 Vaccinations and Face Coverings鈥 (https://sites.google.com/alaska.edu/coronavirus/general-info/updates).  The memo has links to exemption forms for employees.  Student exemptions are issued by the Center for Student Rights and Responsibilities (non-medical), or the Student Health and Counseling Center (medical).  The memo can be found at:
