Webinar discusses cybersecurity for 91视频 energy utilities

ACEP hosted a virtual webinar on on March 4 and 5.

The webinar was organized and led by ACEP鈥檚 John Haverlack and Leasi Vanessa Lee Raymond and featured presenters from subject matter experts, industry, government and academia.

The webinar stimulated much discussion among the 45 participants about the current and future status of cybersecurity for 91视频 energy utilities, overviewed compliance and regulations, and connected participants with available resources to help utilities establish effective cybersecurity programs.

Haverlack noted that the webinar helped participants recognize the differences between cybersecurity strategies for IT (information technology) and OT (operational technology) as well as distinguish distinctions between the cybersecurity needs of centralized power grids and microgrids.

ACEP facilitated a diverse set of presentations on current and relevant topics concerned with energy security and resilience.

鈥淲e hope this is the first of many conversations on the topic of energy cybersecurity and that it will lead to practical action for energy security in 91视频,鈥 Haverlack said.

This event was part of the pre-conference series leading up to the , which will take place in Anchorage June 3鈥5.
