UA Disability Services staff and faculty support webinar series
From fall 2024 through spring 2025, Disability Services offices across the state will continue offering free virtual training sessions on various essential topics to UA staff and faculty. Each 'All Access' session will include ASL interpreters and live transcription services.

Speaker Bio: Kara Nash is the institutional events manager at the University of 91视频
Fairbanks and owner of Goldie鈥檚 AK, a mobile bar serving the Fairbanks area. With
over 15 years of event planning experience, she specializes in large-scale community
events and has partnered with notable organizations such as the Greater Fairbanks
Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Association, Arctic Winter Games, and local nonprofits.
When she鈥檚 not organizing the next big thing, she鈥檚 on the ice at the Fairbanks Curling
Club, sharpening her stone-throwing skills and sweeping her way to victory (or at
least trying). Somehow, she also manages to keep up with her 5-year-old daughter,
proving that multitasking is truly her superpower.
Animals On Campus -

In this engaging webinar, we鈥檒l delve into the diverse roles of service animals, assistance
animals, and pets in the academic environment. From understanding the legal rights
and responsibilities associated with service animals to the emotional benefits of
therapy and assistance animals, we鈥檒l cover it all. Experts will share practical insights
and strategies for fostering a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for these important
companions. Additionally, we will discuss service animals in laboratories and other
specialty areas. Whether you鈥檙e a student, staff/faculty member, or campus administrator,
this session will equip you with the knowledge to navigate and enhance the role of
