Overview
Host a show!
Are you an artist? Are you a faculty member or teacher who teaches art to others? Does your club or organization have an idea for an art show or competition?
You can host it at Arctic Java!
Arctic Java is a wonderful coffee shop style gallery space for hanging art. Our walls are white peg board, and have an installed hanging system that can be customized to your needs. We are well equipped to host your show, a First Friday or opening reception, and artist talks. In addition to our gallery hanging system, we have a stage with lighting, AV system and screen, and complete sound system. Whatever you envision for your show and reception, we can help make it happen!
At this time, Arctic Java does not charge for space rental for gallery shows.
For your show, we offer:
- Adjustable hanging system
- AV, lights, and sound system for opening reception or artist talks
- Marketing for show and opening reception
- Opening reception snacks and drinks (we do not serve alcohol at receptions)
- Assistance in planning your show
In order to have a successful show, we ask that you do the following:
- Contact Sea at cdseamount2@alaska.edu in advance. We typically book our space several months in advance. Please note that UAF students, clubs, and classes may be given priority.
- Have all artworks ready to hang with wires. This works best on our system and hooks. We do not have hanging materials available.
- Fill out the gallery waiver, found below. This waiver covers our policies on hanging, sales, and general information.
